Individual Psychotherapy
“ PEACE. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.” –(unknown)
I am a licensed clinical social worker trained in the practice of psychotherapy. I primarily use Psychodynamic Therapy, Applied Polyvagal Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Somatic EMDR, and Pain Reprocessing Therapy in my approach to assisting clients.
My therapeutic areas of specialty include, anxiety; depression; stress management; occupational burnout; race-based stress and trauma; relationship challenges; healthy coping and thriving in intimate partner relationship endings such as divorce or long-term dating relationships; relational trauma recovery; chronic pain; working with undergraduate & graduate students; college and professional athletes; professionals navigating personal wellness and high demand careers; and optimizing mental health via holistic health & wellness lifestyle practices.
I am passionate about holistic health and wellness and take an integrative approach to mental health treatment assisting my clients in building healthy lifestyles that protect, maintain, and or help them reach, optimal mental health and wellness.
An integrative, holistic health approach means that my clients and I explore and build skills in the areas of mindful awareness, nutrition, sleep, physical activity, rest, relaxation, meaningful work, finances, relationships, environment, spirituality, conventional medical care, and complimentary care, to support their mental wellbeing.
I support my clients in getting to the root causes of distress, unhealthy lifestyle practices, and ineffective patterns of behavior. This often includes addressing chronic and complex trauma, and identifying core beliefs and societal pressures that have come to influence their behavior and lifestyle choices. With increased awareness, strategies and skills, I support my clients in courageously aligning their actions with their personal passions, desires, and values. This results in a life lived with more intention, a life lived more and more on purpose.
Fees and Health Insurance
I accept payment via Zelle, credit card, and Health Spending Accounts (HSA/FSA).
I do not accept insurance but will bill Aetna health insurance directly for those with Aetna who would like to utilize their out-of-network benefits.
